At the end of this month, the official opening of the GREENMIX Jerusalem Recycling Park will take place — a first-of-its-kind initiative in the capital that brings together urban sustainability, industrial innovation, and smart infrastructure. This milestone marks a major advancement in developing local solutions for construction and demolition waste, right in the heart of the Jerusalem metropolis.
After months of planning, construction, and on-site implementation, GREENMIX is proud to unveil an innovative recycling facility built entirely under a dedicated covered structure. The design minimizes pollutant emissions, prevents environmental nuisances, and ensures optimal working conditions and monitoring capabilities.
The facility will receive construction and demolition waste from infrastructure and development projects, which will undergo sorting, processing, and transformation into high-quality raw materials — ready to re-enter the local construction cycle as part of a circular economy approach.
A New Local Infrastructure – A Green, Operational Concrete Plant
Alongside the recycling facility, an advanced concrete plant is already in operation. It offers innovative mixes based on recycled aggregates, including CLSM, cement-treated sand, curb stone blends, and more. This plant provides a reliable, readily available, and efficient source of materials for contractors involved in infrastructure and development projects across the Jerusalem area.
A Sustainable Solution Across Three Impact Circles
For contractors – Local service, high availability, cost savings, and reduced transportation time.
For the city – Fewer transport trucks, reduced emissions, and minimal movement of unregulated waste.
For residents – Cleaner air, a safer environment, and support for the transition to a sustainable and smart city.
The attached video offers a compelling glimpse into the construction process of the park’s central facility — not just infrastructure, but a bold and practical declaration of Jerusalem’s environmental future.
Acknowledgments and Partners
This initiative would not have been possible without the full partnership of the Jerusalem Municipality, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Rezbar Ltd., Bank Leumi, and many other partners who contributed their support — from concept to execution.
This is only the first step — but it sets a clear direction : Jerusalem is building green.
